Visiting with us twice a year will minimize your risk for common dental problems and allow us to provide personalized dental care for any needs or concerns you may have.

Routine Dental Care: what to expect

When patients come into our Hartland dentist’s office for routine dental care, we make every effort to get to know them and understand what risk factors they may have for common dental problems. Our dental care team focuses on you and your needs. We want you to feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed in the dentist’s chair. We know that many patients feel anxious or fearful about dental care visits, often the result of previous bad experiences for adult patients. That is why we start the visit by talking to you and getting to know you better. We will need to take x-rays and do an exam before your cleaning, but first, we want to be sure that your questions are answered and that your fears are addressed.

A routine dental visit will include:

  • Screenings for gum disease, tooth decay, oral cancer, and other oral songs of health concerns. These screenings are the result of both a visual exam with Dr. Sesi and your dental x-rays. We use digital x-rays which will expose you to less radiation.
  • Dental exam: Dr. Sesi will look over your digital diagnostics and examine your teeth, gums, and jaw joints. We are looking for any signs of disease or dysfunction in the bite when you move your jaw joints. Dr. Sesi will also take a look at your airway and let you know if he has any concerns about sleep apnea.
  • Teeth cleaning: today’s dental patients can enjoy an easy, comfortable teeth cleaning with fun-tasting toothpaste. Our hygienists are experienced and will make sure you feel comfortable throughout the process.

A routine visit is all about oral health maintenance. We want your visit to be warm and welcoming- something you may even look forward to every six months! The enjoyment of a healthy smile cannot be underrated. Good oral health will support many things including your immune system.
